UDP Commands

The UDP Commands panel organizes the device commands into collapsible sections. In replay mode, it becomes a playback controller. The address of the connected board is shown at the top of the panel (Target: <ip>:<port>).

note

The app already connects to the board, takes it over and configures it by itself (see Connecting to a Device); the START and STOP buttons of the header are the usual way to run an acquisition. This panel is for fine control and for commands the header does not offer.

Replay Mode

When a recording is loaded, the panel shows:

  • Play / Pause button
  • Seek slider — scrub through the recording
  • Speed selector — 0.25×, 0.5×, 1×, 2×, 4×

Live Mode — Sections

ACQUISITION

  • START / STOP buttons — begin or halt data acquisition

LEDs (collapsible)

  • Individual ON/OFF buttons for each LED: Green (G), Yellow (Y), Red (R)

CONFIG

  • SPEED field + Send — sets the sampling rate (a lower value gives a higher rate; 999 = 8 kHz per channel)
  • DEST IP field + Send — sets the PC that receives the data stream and the events

The settings are kept by the board and re-applied each time the acquisition is configured. They can only be changed while the acquisition is stopped.

HEADSTAGE CONFIG (collapsible)

  • LOWER Hz, UPPER Hz, DSP Hz fields + Send buttons — configure the analog and digital filter cut-offs
  • CHIP MODE selector (HW / SIM) + Send — switch between the real headstage and the simulation (synthetic data)

QUERY (collapsible)

Buttons for the read-only commands, such as GET_IP, STATUS, VERSION, GET_CHANNELS and HELP. Responses appear in the Serial Terminal panel.

I2C (collapsible)

  • SCAN_I2C button — lists the I2C addresses that answer, in the terminal

RMS / SPIKE (collapsible)

  • RMS ON / OFF
  • SPIKE ON / OFF with parameter inputs: k, polarity (NEG / POS / BOTH), refractory ms, channel mask
  • SPIKE MASK input + Send
  • Refresh button — opens a window showing:
    • RMS view: grid of per-channel RMS values + sorted dot plot
    • Spike view: bar chart of per-channel firing rates

ZCHECK (collapsible)

  • ZCHECK_SCAN — measures the impedance of all acquired channels; opens the impedance heat-map grid when it completes
  • DEEP — multi-frequency impedance sweep (Bode diagram):
    • N (frequency points, 1–64)
    • M (averages per point, 1–64)
    • channel selector (ALL or one channel)
    • opens the Bode diagram when the sweep completes

The latest impedance results are also shown on page 2 of the device screen. The acquisition must be stopped for these measurements.

MONITOR (collapsible)

  • MONITOR_ON / MONITOR_OFF — enable or disable the periodic CPU telemetry on the device's serial output (shown in the serial monitor of the Serial Terminal)
