Quick Start

This guide walks you through connecting to a device and starting a live data stream.

Prerequisites

Step 1 — Connect

Start the app. It reconnects to the last board you used, or looks for one on the network. Watch the status next to the board name in the header:

  • Searching… → Connecting… → Configuring… → Ready

The app takes the board and configures it by itself: there is nothing to initialise by hand.

tip

If the app does not find your board (No board), click Board in the toolbar and enter the IP address shown on the device screen. On a direct cable connection this is typically 192.168.1.11. If the app asks whether to take control of a board used by another computer, choose Take control.

Step 2 — Check the Headstage

The device screen shows the headstage state and its channel count (for example 32 CH and READY). If the header shows Waiting for headstage, plug the headstage in: the app configures the acquisition as soon as it is detected.

Step 3 — Choose the Sampling Rate (optional)

The board samples at 8 kHz per channel by default. To change it, open the UDP Commands panel, type a value in the SPEED field and press the send icon (→). A lower value gives a higher rate. The rate can only be changed while the acquisition is stopped.

Step 4 — Start

Press START in the header. The device begins streaming and the screen shows RUNNING. Open the Signal Viewer panel to see the live signals.

Press STOP at any time to end the acquisition.

If START is greyed out, hover it: the tooltip tells what the board is waiting for (for example a headstage).
