Studio Quick Start
This guide walks you through creating and running a minimal Studio program that blinks an LED on the device. No prior knowledge required.
Prerequisites
- Device connected and acquisition started — see the Quick Start
- Studio panel open
Step 1 — Open the Studio Panel
Click Studio in the left panel list. The Studio opens with two empty sections: Setup and Loop.
Step 2 — Build the Program
For this quick start you only need one block in the Loop section:
- In the IO group of the block palette (left side), find LED toggle.
- Drag it into the Loop canvas area.
- In the block's settings, set the LED to LED1 (Green).
That's the entire program. Every loop iteration (~1 ms) the LED state flips, producing a ~500 Hz blink.
Step 3 — Compile
Click Compile at the top of the Studio panel. The app compiles the block program and shows the compiled size in bytes. Any errors (invalid block configurations, missing required blocks) are listed here.
Step 4 — Upload and Run
Click Upload. The app:
- Stops any currently running program on the device
- Transfers the new program
- Starts it immediately
The green LED on the device should start blinking rapidly.
Step 5 — Observe and Iterate
The green LED blinks too fast to see individually — that's expected at ~500 Hz. To slow it down:
- Add a Declare variable block in Setup (Variables group) — name it
counter, initial value0. - In Loop, add Add to variable —
counter += 1. - Wrap the LED block in an if block:
counter == 500(then blocks: LED1 toggle +counter = 0).
Now the LED blinks once per second (~1 Hz).
Compile and Upload again to test.
